Pomodoro Technique: One Simple Method to Boost Your Productivity
Being productive does not need to be exhausting
After graduating from high school, I have always wanted to apply to one of the best universities in my country, enrolling in one of the favorite programs — International Relations major. The thing was, I only had a 1:73 chance to enroll in that class. With a very limited time, I had to study lots of things, that’s the first time I was introduced to the Pomodoro technique — the time management method that helped me enrolled in that class.
What is Pomodoro Technique?
Pomodoro technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The main concept of this method is to break your task into smaller tasks, instead of working for hours straight, you break it into shorter sessions.
This method allows you to have frequent short breaks during your work session. One session consists of four Pomodoro, and each Pomodoro is 25 minutes long. Every time you’re finished with one Pomodoro, you take 5 minutes break, and every time you’re finished with four Pomodoros you take a longer break, usually 25 to 30 minutes.
