Ears For Everyone
How much it means to be heard? It means everything.
I have stumbled into a lot of things in the past few years, one of the things that I love to do was listening to people’s stories, it’s common for me when my friends have simply texted me just to share their thoughts, their struggles or even their happiness that’s happening in their lives. One other thing that I love is to write, and what would happen if I combined both of the things that I love into something that I believe could make the community be a better place?
This is where an idea transformed into a beautiful creation. This is where Positively Worthy was born.
I have grown love into reading books and watching movies, one of the genres that I love those things is biographies, I love reading how Elon Musk created his companies from scratch and I love how Ray Kroch made a gigantic company such as McDonald's. For me looking back into their stories, of famous and successful people gave me insights and some kind of motivation to be a better version of myself.
But what it takes to be heard? Do you need to be famous and successful in the first place, so people willing to listen to your stories? Don’t you also have a story — a voice — that meant to be shared? — that meant to be heard?.
It’s nice to listen to the famous stories, reading the story of J.K Rowling wrote her books. But I believe, every one of us is a storyteller — it’s in our nature as human beings. We have been through a lot in this life, with every unique incident in our lives, and I have always believed that those stories are meant to be shared.
It started with a name; Your name. Then it becomes a story.
I have tried my best to listen to every story that I have stumbled, a friend who had just experienced his first heartbreak, a father who lost his son, a security guard questioning his futures, a banker who just gave everything that he has for someone that he loves, a student who’s struggling in financial problems, and any other stories that I was lucky to be the one who could hear them.
The world that we are living in now has become a busy place, people were busy doing their things to become number one in everything, to buy the most expensive things on the market, to be the best in everything. We tend to become this individualistic person, and often forgetting that we are not living in a completely empty world, we are living together, among other people, trying to be something in this world, but I believed that the world will become such a better place if we stop being ignorant to each other, if we are willing to help people, if we are willing to spend a few minutes of our lives to listen to someone else’s story.
Because our abilities as human beings shouldn’t be limited by any unfortunate events in the past. To draw closer with our beloved ones, to invest a few minutes listening to someone else’s stories, knowing that’s life has been rough for everyone, knowing that everyone is struggling, knowing how it felt to be unheard — having a voice with no ears to listen. Why should we begin our conversation with ‘I’ while we can start with ‘You’?
Now enough about me, and let’s start with your story.
